About this site
Who writes it, what it is for, and how it relates to the company.
This is where I share what I know, what I think and what I have got wrong about complex software.
The path here
I studied in Torino, Karlsruhe and München during my PhD, then went to work in Dublin. After that I started out on my own as a freelancer in Lyon, and eventually came back to Torino to found Strumenta.
The writing came before all of it and never stopped: 274 pieces since 2009, still online whether or not they match what the company sells today.
What is mine, what is Strumenta’s
The opinions here are mine, including the ones the company would phrase differently. The engineering, the products and the client work happen at Strumenta. Where an article describes paid work, it says so in the article.
I do not curate the archive backwards
I delete nothing and rewrite nothing to fit what I would say today. Old pieces stay, and where I changed my mind the piece says so, rather than being quietly edited.
Getting in touch
For anything about the writing — a correction, a disagreement, a question — write to me. I read everything. For work on a real system, that is Strumenta.
